Dr. Tracy Hicks

Nurse practitioner and entrepreneur Dr. Tracy Hicks is the founder and CEO of C-Trilogy Outreach, a nonprofit mental health and primary care clinic in East Texas.

In addition to operating her own clinic, Dr. Hicks has served as faculty for nursing schools throughout Texas, including Texas Christian University, the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth and Kilgore College. She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Tyler’s School of Nursing.

A well-respected healthcare leader in Texas and across the U.S., Dr. Hicks is the current president-elect of Texas Nurse Practitioners, where she has served on the TNP Board of Directors for nearly five years. She serves as board member at large on the Fellows of American Association of Nurse Practitioners Executive Committee and held past volunteer leadership roles with the American Academy of HIV Medicine, the Texas Steering Committee, the Texas Health and Human Services Behavioral Health Advisory Committee and the American Society of Addiction Nursing.

Her primary areas of focus include mental health, substance use disorder, emotional intelligence and addressing social determinants of health in diverse patient populations. She is certified in addictions nursing and was inducted into the Fellows of the International Academy of Addiction Nurses in 2019. Additionally, she received a certificate in Diversity & Inclusion from Cornell University and is a licensed Diversity & Inclusion Trainer through Empowered Living.

Dr. Hicks received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler and Master of Science in Nursing degrees as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas at Arlington. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Frontier Nursing University and her MBA from Texas Christian University in 2023. She was inducted as a fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2021.
